Personal Fundraising Update

As well as team fundraising, each 'lifer' is tasked with individually raising £750 to go to the overall team target of £40,000.

The Business4Life team 2011 have been involved in some varied and wacky ways to raise funds for WaterAid. From haircuts to Nursery Sports Day, a great time was had by all, lots of money was raised and the spotlight was well and truly on WaterAid.

Wearing it blue

Business4Life member Kirstie Port held an event at the BWBSL office where staff were charged to dress in blue for the day and held a cake sale. She also asked all staff to "Donate a penny when spending a penny" where staff were charged for using the toilet. Posters and money pots adorned all the toilets in the building. This was a really successful event and raised £229.50.

Educating

In early September, Chantal Flynn visited Clarendon College in Trowbridge in aid of WaterAid. With her mum being a teacher, raising the pupils awareness of WaterAid’s plight was the highest priority for Chantal’s visit.

Halcrow Craft Sale

Staff at Halcrow’s Burderop Park shopped ‘til they dropped at Moranda’s craft, cake and book fayre in August. Wonderfully handcrafted items for sale included gift cards, jewellery, quilted treasures and knitted novelties. The cat doorstops (as pictured) made a purrfect impression and the cakes went down a treat!

100 Mile Cycle

Laura Mann spent a day in Bath completing a 100 mile cycle challenge to raise awareness and money for WaterAid!

The Big Haircut

Stuart Seaman helped raise over £1000 when he persuaded a work colleague to cut his hair for the benefit of WaterAid!

The Tough Guy Challenge

In late July Russell Palmer took the Tough Guy Challenge which meant enduring a physically exhausting assault course that the majority of starters did not finish. He raised £750.

Walking Offa's Dyke

Jennifer Hill walked over 80 miles, the length of Offa’s Dyke path. The 80 mile walk raised nearly £1000 for WaterAid!

The 3 Peaks Challenge

Jack Maidment completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in September. He and several friends conquered the mountains and raised over £1000!

The Wolf Run

In September, Laura Parker completed the Wolf Run, a gruelling run over field and wild terrain. She also raised a great deal of money holding a car wash and car boot.

The Dragon Boat Challenge

Business4Life members Natalie Scuadamore & Kerry Wyatt managed to persuade their mad work colleagues to take part in the 18 mile Dragon Boat Challenge paddling from Bath to Bristol on 15th October 2011.

Nursery Sports Day

Three local Bath nurseries took part in organised Nursery Olympics Sports day which lifer Kerry Wyatt was involved with. It took place over the July/August and parents and pupils helped to raise over £900 for WaterAid.
